Schlossgarten Petzow
A Paradise in Brandenburg

Petzow manor house gardens, a gem on the shore of Schwielowsee, the outermost point of Potsdam’s architectural and horticultural ensemble has come back to life.

Overview

Considered a magical place in the Bronze Age, turned into a “walled garden” in the 19th century, it has now blossomed again after a long and eventful history.

It took more than 25 years to overcome the 1946 decreed subdivision of the palace garden, to gradually buy the sections, to reconnect them and thus to win back the historical garden space.

After the decline in the 1980s and the neglect in the 1990s, the garden designers have succeeded in creating an enchanting paradise.

A piece of garden culture has returned to Brandenburg.

A team of architects have increased the charm of the garden even further with the first two outbuildings and the small, fairytale-like apiary.

Even if only half of the valid development plan has been implemented so far and many ideas are still lying dormant, visitors will be able to access the garden from 2022 on.
